How to Grow Your Business in These Tough Times
I’ve never liked the status quo.
In my head or outwardly, I’m constantly asking, “Is that the best I can do?”
I like a challenge. I don’t like things to come easy to me. Sometimes I look for the hardest way first, just for the challenge.
I’m weird, I get it. But am I that uncommon?
Don’t you love a good challenge? I believe you do. That’s why you are in business for yourself! Well, that and a million other reasons. 🙂
These are uncommon times.
Unusual.
The COVID-19 has certainly changed our routines.
For some, we’ve been given a gift of time off from our normal routines.
More time to spend with the family. More time to sharpen our skills. More time to learn a new skill. More time to pick up the phone and call our loved ones. More time to help our community. More time to help our neighbors in need.
The Good
It’s so good to have a shake-up every once in a while and ask ourselves, am I living to the fullest?
Am I giving of myself in the best possible way?
Can I do more?
Can I be more effective?
Another question I am constantly asking is, “Is this the best use of my time? What IS the best use of my time?”
The Wrong Question
I learned a long time ago, not to ask myself, “Self, how do you feel about ___.” Wrong question.
The Best Question
For me, I want to know, “Self, what is the absolute best thing I can be doing right now?” Then do it.
How do you know if you are succeeding?
In sports, for example, you know you are winning because there is a scoreboard.
What would your family say if you asked them, “On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate our family?” Then listen for their number and follow up with, “What would make it a __ (one point higher)?”
What would your employees say if you asked them, “On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate our team?” Listen and then follow up with, “What would make it a __ (one point higher)?”
What would your spouse or significant other say if you asked them, “On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate our marriage/relationship?” Listen and then follow up with, “What would make it a __ (one point higher)?”
What would you say, if I asked you, “On a scale of. 1-10, how would you rate your life right now?”
I’m listening. 🙂
“What would make it one point higher?”
Your Success
At DYB, we want you to be extremely successful, not just in business, but in life, in marriage, in family, in relationships, and in serving your community, whether you are inside working ON your business and relationships or outside after the COVID-19 quarantine.
What if there was a scoreboard for business and relationships?
DONE!
The Scoreboard
So, if you know Steve, he’s all about systems and he creates wonderful systems! He created a scoreboard. The DYB Scoreboard is not just for business, it is for family, and relationships.
Here is a link for your to download the DYB Scoreboard for FREE.
We recommend emailing your local print shop and request to have it printed on 32 X 48 on laminated paper in color. Then you can hang it in your office and start tracking and measuring.
“What you measure, you can master.”
The Challenge
Do you want to know exactly where you are? Do you long to know, “What’s the SCORE???”
Download the DYB Scoreboard, email it to Staples, (requesting them to print it on 32 X 48 on laminated paper in color), then hang it up, and fill it out.
Take a photo of yourself with your scoreboard and post it to the DYB Coach Facebook Page or email it to me, April@DYBCoach.com and I’ll post it for you.
If you are done with not knowing what the score is, if you are done with just hoping you are improving, then download the FREE DYB SCOREBOARD.
Is that the best you can do?
Let’s show the world we are up to the challenge.
We are up to the challenge of Constant And Never-ending Improvement (CANI, as Tony Robbins calls it).
We are up to the challenge of giving of ourselves in the best possible way.
We are up to the challenge of beating our status quo.
We know the score.
We can beat the score.
The Best Part
The best part is who your opponent is. Know ’em? Look in the mirror. That’s who you are trying to beat. That’s who you are working hard against, beating yourself. Improving yourself.
Let’s do this!
