9 Steps To Get On The Path To Success

“You can’t change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.” Jim Rohn

1. Take the 7-day  challenge.
To be positive. If you stumble, just start over and you, too, will experience how “success attracts success” ~ Jim Rohn.

Before you know it, you will have developed the habit of being positive and then you will naturally draw others to you.

Here are some “to do’s” to help you achieve this challenge if you are willing:

2. Unfollow, not unfriend, but unfollow every person that post’s negatively in your Facebook feed.
I do this daily and my Facebook feed is actually very motivating for me! (:
3. Take a 7 day fast from “the blues.”
Uh, I mean News. Their job is to hold your attention to sell ads.

If their top story reads, “The World is the safest it’s ever been and it’s going to be a beautiful day today,” you would think that is wonderful and move on, BUT…

If they say, “URGENT! Somebody was murdered somewhere and it was bad, and we’re going to bring in supposedly experts to comment on this for the next 3 days”

While they will sell a bunch of ads!

The sky isn’t falling. Stop buying what the blues is selling you. Don’t be Chicken Little…

4. Make it a point to look for people who are smiling and standing tall.
If you do, soon you will be sporting a winning smile and improving your posture.

5. Take control of your self-talk.
You control your thoughts. Don’t let your mind go negative.

Ask yourself better and empowering questions like:
“What’s great about this? How can this turn out for the best? Who can benefit from this? What’s the upside to this?”
Smile and be on your way.  😀

6. Write down 20 things you are grateful for.
Every time you feel down, you are being selfish and are forgetting about all of the wonderful blessings you have.
I know, I used to allow myself to fall into this, too.

Before you go to bed every night and again upon waking, write down 20 things you are grateful for.
Force yourself to go all the way to twenty.

When you do, you will feel yourself start to lift out of the funk you were once in!

7. Go for a run or even just a walk in a park, away from the city.
When you do, you will find anxiety start to dissipate.

You will not only start to think more clearly, but you will achieve a higher level of thinking and soon a rush of new and exciting ideas will start to flow in.
Now the challenge is to capture them as fast as they come in.

This is one of the reasons we moved from San Diego. As beautiful as the city and weather is, and it is very beautiful, living downtown, we found we missed having more nature close by, to get away from the big city to reset.

Back in Venice FL, we could easily walk the beach or bike to a park and the creativity would just flow. Thankfully, we have that again here in Venice, FL.
8. Join a positive and encouraging group, like the DYB Community.
Make sure there are no “Crabs in the bucket.”
…or people that try to bring you down because they see you doing better and better.
9. Ask yourself these 3 questions to achieve your goals:
What do you want, what are you willing to pay for it, and do you believe in yourself to achieve them?
Let’s unpack this and drill down.
Decide what it is you do want.
This can be one of the hardest habits to change. We are good at knowing what we don’t want, but it’s tough changing our mindset to think about what we do want.
Do you want…

What are you willing to pay to get it?

The supposed “Law of Attraction” that claims if you think about it long and hard enough is a bunch of crap. Yes, you need to get clear on what it is that you want, but the other part of this elusive equation is that you have to get off your butt and work your face off for it.

Do you believe in yourself?
We all struggle with this at some level…
We all have a level of stinking thinking; but, the more you practice the following exercises, the less it will be, and the more you will achieve.

“You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.” – Jim Rohn

I did, and I do regularly.

One powerful way to achieve this is by a simple exercise of writing out 20 “I am” statements upon waking every morning. Before you are fully alert. This is the best time to reprogram your subconscious.

Here are 11 great examples to get you started:

Buy their books and apply them to yourself!

Each time I allow stinking thinking, I call them and they give me true perspective and the encouragement I need to get my mind right.
