The ride. It’s up and down…
The day starts, we are filled with optimism, hope, encouragement by putting good things in our minds –
an inspiring book, auto-book, blog, podcast, or quote.
We are filled and ready for the fight! BRING IT! Let’s CRUSH IT today!
Round 1 – punches are thrown, gut hits are taken, the wind gets knocked out of us, we fall down, we rise again, more hits taken, beaten but not knocked out, faces bloody from the battle…
slowly, hit upon hit, it gets uncomfortable, painful; we lose our focus, lose this round.
Round 2 – stopping not for the rest and fill up we need, we march on. Our conscious tells us we need a break, but we say, “I can do this! I must press on!”
Battle places, feet ready, side step the blows…then an unforeseen blow that knocks us down, we get up…
“Must… press…on…”
Round 3 – New arena, new blows. “No time for breaks,” say we. More hits. Not even strong body slams as earlier, but softer blows that surprisingly knock us down due to lack of breaks and refueling…defeat…failure…
Just… get… to… bed…sleep…
Repeat – Awaken…drink coffee laced with optimism! Fuel ourselves with hope! Encouragement and fight comes back alive in us!
If you’re an entrepreneur, you know or have known this scenario in your own life. If this scenario plays out enough, we think we are okay, because we awaken and fill ourselves with hope, grit, and light the fire of the fight in us.
