I have a question directly for you. But first, let me tell you a story…
I left the painting industry in 2010 after being in business for 10 years. The economy crashed, construction came to a screaming halt, consumers started safeguarding their money.
I went from having 6 employees to painting by myself in a matter of 2 years. Soon, I couldn’t even keep myself busy. Credit card debt started to accumulate….fast! My bank line of of credit reached the maximum limit.
I had a family! My wife and 3 girls depended on me to support them. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO??
I gave up.
It is something I hate to admit, but a spade is a spade. I realize that very clearly today because of what I know now. You see, I was playing the blame game. It was the economy’s fault! It was the consumer’s fault! It was the Bank’s fault! I mean how can it not be? That is what everyone was saying so it had to be the case. I bought into it hand over fist, and just like that, it was the end of my 10 year endeavor.
I accepted a job as a paint supervisor for Perdue Farms. That transition didn’t work. My mind still wasn’t in a great place from accepting defeat in the entrepreneurial world.
I started cleaning hospital floors at night while I looked for side work during the day. I went on Craigslist to look for people willing to let me cut there trees down for free so I can split it into firewood and sell it.
I did whatever I had to do to survive…..then it happened. The United States Postal Service accepted me as a non-career letter carrier.
It was a good paying job with benefits and security, at least that is what I thought. The good pay and security proved to be true……until…….Contract negotiation. So after 3 years as a non-career letter carrier I was given the choice to accept the same job for $6/hr less.
…UNBELIEVABLE, RIGHT?? Well don’t feel bad for me because THIS is where my life had changed for the better!!
“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.” – Jim Rohn
Everything I went through led me to this, the life changing experiences of PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT!
I started listening to audiobooks by people such as Og Mandino, Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Tony Robbins, Dave Ramsey, Darren Hardy and more…
When you start owning your mistakes, take accountability for them, start learning from them, you attract the right people into your life…..Enter Steve Burnett of DYB Coach!
I was about 6 months into my personal development when I found Steve. He started a YouTube show called “The Ask Steve B Show” and was giving away so much value in these episodes. I was drawn in and started to participate. Steve was offering to give someone his book, “How To Double Your Business Without Making a Sale”, if their question was chosen by him to be featured in his episode.
I WON!!!!!
I thought I just won a book, but little did I know at that moment that I won more than a valuable resource tool for business, but a relationship that has continued to grow since we first met. Steve and April have shown me sincere concern about bettering myself and putting priorities in order to succeed.
I believe this is the driving force behind their DYB Coaching business taking off and being so successful. They are just great people wanting to help other great people help great people.
I have been a Cafe level member of the DYB Coaching system for about 8 months now and have achieved the following:
• Licensed & formed an LLC for Arey Painting

These are just some of my main WINS. Keep in mind that I am currently still at my full time Postal Service position and have a beautiful family to spend time with while accomplishing these things. That is why I am grateful that the DYB Coach has different levels of access and you too can check it all out here for just $1.
I still have a long way to go but I know I’m in the right place to achieve my goals.
