Here’s How Change Can Benefit You
You might be wondering why sporting that Neon shirt.
Well, I want to talk about ‘Change’ today and how change is good.
But if you are comfortable right now on how life is going and you are so happy, you might as well stop right here.
I am Ron Ramsden and I am a DYB coach, also a painting contractor up here in Massachusetts.
I tell you that because I live the same life you guys do.
At one time, about 4 years ago, I had 3 guys working for me, I thought everything was great, everything was fine.
I was making a few dollars, but I didn’t know what I didn’t know.

So, let’s just touch base on a couple of things.
Change is not easy, change is hard, and the reason I have this shirt on today is, I just went for another run –I started running again.
Years ago I loved to run, and now I hate running because running is hard, I would rather sit around and have a cold beer.
But the only way to get into shape and to lose a few pounds and to feel good about myself is exercise, and running is
the way I can do it.
I don’t have to drive to the gym, I can just put on my shoes, put on this fancy Neon shirt, or one like it, and I go for a run.
Anyway, it’s not fun, it’s hard, it’s change, it takes a while to get to that point where you can go out and run 3 or 4 or 5 miles, whatever you prefer to do.
It takes a while before that gets really comfortable.
And I will tell you, when I was in shape and when I was running all the time, there would be nothing better to come to a fork in a road and say which way do I want to go today, not thinking about the miles, it’s thinking about which journey I wanted to go in.
And that’s why I want to talk about change.
If you are comfortable with your business, there is nothing to change, some of us start these new programs, we will download a new app, we will start a new software program, we will do it for 2 or 3 days, and we will find it difficult and time-consuming.
But we know a lot of other people who do this and it works for them, and then you just give up on it and go back to the old ways.
If you don’t struggle and if you don’t put yourself out there, nothing is going to change.
In fact today, I got a phone call, out of the blue, unknown number, I picked it up, I was in my truck driving along and
it was a Kelly Williams rep.
Kelly Williams is a real estate agency, some of you might know about it.
I actually practiced real estate for a few years and I worked for the same company.
A young guy was on the phone and you could tell he was nervous as nervous can be… And I know this was reaching out for him.
And one of the things in their training program is you have to make so many calls a day…
And what does that mean, you pick up the phone, and he asked me if I lived in a certain address, and I said, I did –until a couple weeks ago, we actually sold the house – and I said yes.
He went on and he says, “I was wondering if you ever thought about selling your house or any other real estate need”.
And you could tell the cracking of his voice, he was young.
He was probably in his early 20s, but you know something, he was doing something that was difficult and he was doing this for so many hours a day or so many half hours a day.
If he got enough Nos, eventually he was going to get a “maybe” or maybe he was going to get a “Yes”.
I have been thinking about that, and I don’t know in real term, could you help me?
That has changed, he has changed.
He has done something that is very uncomfortable, looking for positive results.
I heard a quote some couple of days ago and I wish I could give kudos to the person, I can’t remember the name, but
he said ‘If life is always easy then it is going to turn out to be difficult, but if life is difficult, it is going to be easy in the end’.
What that means is, if you just go with the flow, nothing is going to change, you are going to struggle with money down the road, and your career is going to go nowhere.
But if you actually challenge yourself and things are difficult to do, implementation of new things, when you get to that certain point, everything becomes easier.
Anyways, I just want to reach out, I am all done running for today, I am Ron Ramsden, and I am a DYB coach, also a painting contractor like I said.
But if you would like to get in touch with me, it’s ron@dybcoach.com.
I would love to chat with you. If you are thinking of putting some new software programs, new apps, for a CRM, to an estimating funnel, whatever it is for your business, I would love to chat with you if you have some questions.
And you can reach me on Facebook, just Google my name; Ron Ramsden, we can chat that way, or maybe even pick up the phone and have a call.
Anyways, keep at it, try something different, if it’s easy, it’s not worth doing, have a great day.
