Our phone hadn’t rang for 5 days straight, at least for an interior estimate.
It would seem like a typical January but not really since a foot of snow had shut down our town for the whole week (we are completely unprepared for snow here in Portland).
I was getting worried, the schedule looked like there was a giant hole forming over February.

So we got started on our email newsletter special and decided to Stay T.O.M., which is the 9 Step in the DYB System.
Here is our layout for a successful 3 section email campaign.
1. DIY Story/Blog – A lovely story about a newlywed couple painting their own cabinets relating how much time it took away from the other things they loved to do. The cabinets turned out nice but they missed out on opportunities! (Insert plug for your company here)
2. The Special Offer – Everyone has a honey-do list. They are just waiting for the right deal to come along and they do not have time to shop around for it either so why not offer one? Our offer:
“Our 2 painters for a day deal: Normally $1000 but I am offering these at a discount of $850 for the next 5 people that want them” Contact us to claim yours today. Must be used before March 1st, 2017.
3. Home maintenance tips from one of your referral partners (plumbers/HVAC, etc.) or a Family update with a picture!
My clients get to know us, they love the family updates!
Many contractors miss out on this opportunity.
The ladies love to hear how our families are doing.
Think back to the last 3 repeat ladies you met with. What was one of their first questions… “How’s your family doing? ”
My campaign was set to launch at roughly 2 pm on Friday afternoon, just before people start sneaking out of work early.
2:15 pm: My phone started lighting up, my email was filling up fast…

It’s about a week after the email and now have 12 jobs sold and exterior estimates scheduled.
